China-Zambia Relations

 The South China Morning Post published on 19 November 2025 an article titled "Railway Deal and a Toxic Spill Likely to Top Agenda as Chinese Premier Visits Zambia" by Jevans Nyabiage.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang will visit Zambia in route to the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.  Key issues on the agenda will likely be new funding for rehabilitating the Tanzania-Zambia railway, the aftereffects of a major toxic spill by a Chinese mining company in Zambia, and terms for Zambia's repayment of debt to Chinese banks.

G-20 Summit in South Africa: VP Heads China Delegation While US Boycotts

 Independent Online published on 14 November 2025 an article titled "'What Snub?' Analyst Dismisses Claims China Is Snubbing South Africa over President Xi's G20 Absence" by Jonisayi Maromo.  

China's President Xi Jinping will not attend the G-20 summit in Johannesburg this month.  Vice President Li Qiang will represent Beijing, which expressed strong support for both the summit and South Africa's leadership of the organization this year.  Unlike the United States, which is boycotting the summit, China insists that this decision does not constitute a snub of South Africa.

Chinese Premier Visits Egypt to Deepen Ties

 UAE-based The National published on 9 July 2025 an article titled "Chinese Premier Li Qiang Visits Egypt to Deepen Ties as US Relations Sour" by Kamal Tabikha.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang is visiting Egypt on a visit to strengthen relations.  The article concludes that Egypt's growing frustration with Israel's polices in Gaza and its perception of US inaction have driven Cairo to recalibrate its foreign policy, resulting in Egypt prioritizing partnerships with China and BRICS nations to reduce reliance on Washington.
