The Associated Press published on 16 March 2023 an article titled "Blinken Says Ethiopia Must Do More on Tigray Peace Deal."
During his visit to Addis Ababa, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Ethiopia needs to make more progress implementing the peace agreement with Tigray Region before the United States is willing to restore eligibility for Africa Growth and Opportunity Act benefits. The issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam was also discussed.
