The author calls for the US to counter Russian security collaboration successes in countries such as Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, arguing that the Kremlin is playing a long-term game.
Comment: The commentary is woefully short on ideas for how to counter Moscow. It is also not persuasive that Russia is engaging successfully for the long term.
