China-Africa Summit Diplomacy

The Observer Research Foundation published on 8 December 2022 a study titled "Summitry as a Tool of Diplomacy: Case of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation" by Abhishek Mishra.

This paper outlines the FOCAC process and analyses the asymmetries in the China-Africa partnership.  It also looks at African summits with other major countries.  

Should All African Union Summits Take Place in Addis Ababa?

The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) published a provocative commentary on 20 June 2014 titled "Should All African Union Summits Take Place in Addis Ababa?" by Liesl Louw-Vaudran, ISS consultant.  The author suggests that for cost and other reasons, all African Union summits should be held at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa.
